Bridge Cottage (centre)

A charming cottage in an ideal location. Lovely to be able to walk into Aylsham from here. Loved the tearoom near to the Church. Very quirky! The welcome pack is surely the best we have ever received in a cottage. Thank you.“ A & B C. June 2019

Millgate, Aylsham

Bridge Cottage is a former mill worker’s cottage situated in Millgate, one of the most historic parts of Aylsham, and close to the River Bure.

Of traditional Norfolk red brick and flint construction, this newly renovated cottage maintains a traditional atmosphere whilst providing you with quality modern comforts.

The cottage is well equipped to provide you with the perfect home for a week or a weekend break. The sitting room features an original open fireplace to cosy up around the stove on cool nights.

The spacious kitchen with its light-filled dining area opens onto a charming private courtyard garden, complete with garden furniture and a shed to store your bike.

Leading off the kitchen, the traditional bathroom has a shower over the bath and luxurious toiletries for an indulgent soak! Upstairs you'll find a spacious and welcoming master bedroom with a comfortable 5’ King size bed and a stylish smaller second bedroom, with double bed, overlooking the garden.

We have stayed in quite a few holiday cottages and this has been 10 out of 10! Very comfortable and well done for the attention to detail. We have had great weather and visited some amazing beaches. Thank you for a lovely stay.” C & A. Edale. September 2019

Aylsham and nearby

It’s an easy stroll to the market place of Aylsham, with all amenities including independent shops and supermarkets, tea rooms and gastro pub, not forgetting the jolly monthly farmer’s market complete with jazz band.

Aylsham Market Place

Aylsham is an attractive, thriving and historic market town situated in the Bure Valley in the heart of the Norfolk countryside, yet only a few miles from the coast at Cromer. Home to the Bure Valley Steam Railway and only a couple of miles from the National Trust’s ‘jewel in the crown’, Blickling Hall, a magnificent Jacobean house, garden and parkland, with events throughout the year.

Marriott's Way is a super off-road cycle and walking path, which follows the old railway line on the edge of the town.

This is an ideal base for your holiday, perfectly situated to explore hidden Norfolk villages, shop in the nearby fashionable Georgian town of Holt, hire a boat on the Norfolk Broads, eat fish & chips on Cromer Pier or take a seal trip from Morston along the Norfolk coast.
